The audience was convinced that Alípio Viveiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Bastos was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Angelo Pessoa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jairo Vilaça to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Alípio Viveiros made the kick off in the second half. David Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alípio Viveiros in the 52nd minute of play.
