In the 34th minute Campus Douro Academy were awarded a corner. André Pestana went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the AM United defense, Álvaro Machado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Bastos. The AM United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Bastos should have stopped the shot. Adelino Palma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Eliseu Bragança made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Teodoro Freire to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, AM United's goalkeeper David Bastos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Montay. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Teodoro Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 78th minute Rodolfo Montay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Angelo Pessoa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eliseu Bragança was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
