Zeferino Diegues was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Manuel Fernandes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manuel Fernandes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristopher de Alcântara in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Vargas saved Sporting Clube de Gaya from getting behind. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper Renato Vargas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Demetrio Savini got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Renato Vargas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fredy Montero scored 2-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeferino Diegues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Renato Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristopher de Alcântara in the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Minho FC's Cristopher de Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renato Vargas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper Renato Vargas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Fredy Montero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeferino Diegues was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Minho FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fredy Montero was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting Clube de Gaya's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Octávio Aleixo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristopher de Alcântara in the 27th minute of play forced Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper Renato Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renato Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristopher de Alcântara in the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Cristopher de Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renato Vargas was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 37th minute of the match Sporting Clube de Gaya got a corner. Minho FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fredy Montero ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Sporting Clube de Gaya's corner Fredy Montero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zeferino Diegues quite easily take care of the ball. Minho FC were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Sporting Clube de Gaya's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Demetrio Savini took the corner. The corner ended in Demetrio Savini almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting Clube de Gaya's Renato Vargas did a great save. In the 44th minute Minho FC were awarded a corner. Demetrio Savini went to the cornerflag to take it. Vladimiro Gago was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 46th match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Mourato to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Colebinders hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristopher de Alcântara to make the kick off. Minho FC's Antero Mendes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tytus Wolniewicz in the 53 minute of the game. In the 54th minute, Minho FC's Cristopher de Alcântara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Renato Vargas. Renato Vargas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Cristopher de Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renato Vargas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Renato Vargas was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristopher de Alcântara showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 58 minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Rangel to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the game, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Fredy Montero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeferino Diegues made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. A collision led to Sporting Clube de Gaya getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Tytus Wolniewicz hit a great ball. If Cristopher de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renato Vargas made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Cristopher de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. In the 87th minute, Minho FC's Cristopher de Alcântara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-5. Renato Vargas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristopher de Alcântara in the 90th minute. Renato Vargas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristopher de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Cristopher de Alcântara notched a goal, 3-6, to the right of Sporting Clube de Gaya's Renato Vargas. Renato Vargas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Sporting Clube de Gaya fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Minho FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
