After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube de Gaya's zone, Rafael Bouzas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renato Vargas came out of the goal and Rafael Bouzas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Renato Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Bouzas in the 10th minute of play. Esquadrão Lusitano were furious when Valdo Passos was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 21st minute, Fredy Montero reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vítor Damas. The goal made the score 1-1. Renato Vargas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Bouzas, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Yavuzalp Eroğul ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renato Vargas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Sporting Clube de Gaya's Renato Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yavuzalp Eroğul in the 29th minute of play. After 30 minutes Sporting Clube de Gaya's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bähräm Abduläzimov who took care of the corner kick. Renato Vargas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Bouzas in the 37th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yavuzalp Eroğul in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renato Vargas saved Sporting Clube de Gaya from getting behind. If Shukrie Laycock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sporting Clube de Gaya players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esquadrão Lusitano were winning 1-2.

Przemyslaw Indyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renato Vargas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Bouzas in the 52nd minute. Sporting Clube de Gaya's Renato Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yavuzalp Eroğul in the 53rd minute of play. Rafael Bouzas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Vargas having to interfere. Rafael Bouzas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Renato Vargas 87 minutes into the match. Shukrie Laycock charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shukrie Laycock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rafael Bouzas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Vargas having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Esquadrão Lusitano left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sporting Clube de Gaya.
