The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute of the match, Florian Terrasi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Samuel Fiúza was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Samuel Fiúza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feng Xiang Bin in the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Jiang De shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alípio Rego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's Jiang De sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alípio Rego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Gremio Viana from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Bembenfica defense, Jiang De kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alípio Rego. The Bembenfica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alípio Rego should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Vitor Roque came free, but Samuel Fiúza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Wilian de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samuel Fiúza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitor Roque, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Gremio Viana's Amado Melo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bebeto da Costa in the 33 minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's Jiang De sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alípio Rego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alípio Rego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiang De, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Feng Xiang Bin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Samuel Fiúza made a huge save. Bembenfica's Alípio Rego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jiang De in the 44th minute of play.

51 minutes into the match, Bembenfica's goalkeeper Alípio Rego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jiang De. 52 minutes into the match, Dario Orlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Fiúza. Gremio Viana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Orlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Fabrizio Crognale hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, Jiang De dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alípio Rego, 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Bembenfica's zone, Carlos Luna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alípio Rego came out of the goal and Carlos Luna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alípio Rego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Luna in the 85th minute of the match. Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna came free and shot a quick shot against goal 85 minutes in the game, fortunately Alípio Rego had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alípio Rego. That made the score 1-3 after 94 minutes of play.
