Carlos Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Laçın Cumayev made a huge save. Carlos Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laçın Cumayev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Laçın Cumayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Carvalho in the 74th minute of the match. If Stig-Åke Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Stig-Åke Mattsson came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the SC Braga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stig-Åke Mattsson couldn't finish the play. SC Braga's Laçın Cumayev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Iglesias in the 84th minute of play.
