In the 12th minute, Jonas Herz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zelg FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Sepp Mainville made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pat Eggers in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pat Eggers in the 25th minute of play forced Zelg FC's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Pat Eggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sepp Mainville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Herz in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stig Verlengia saved Liver Bird from getting behind. In the 30thth minute of the game Jonas Herz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liver Bird's Stig Verlengia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Zelg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clinton Werfel came free, but Sepp Mainville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timoteo Kuhn in the 37th minute of play forced Zelg FC's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liver Bird's Stig Verlengia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Herz in the 40th minute of play. Liver Bird were furious when Silvain Zimmermann was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 40 minutes into the game, one of Liver Bird:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Stig Verlengia, was totally fooled by Zelg FC's Gilles Clerc, who 42 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 45 minutes into the match, Liver Bird's goalkeeper Stig Verlengia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Irwin Monney. If Jonas Herz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Herz in the 52nd minute of play forced Liver Bird's goalkeeper Stig Verlengia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Clinton Werfel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th match minute, Liver Bird was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clinton Werfel to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute Jonas Herz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Verlengia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timoteo Kuhn got free with Sepp Mainville in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 63 minutes, Ross Flückiger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liver Bird and the Zelg FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Liver Bird getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ross Flückiger hit a great ball. Clinton Werfel struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Sepp Mainville didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liver Bird. Stig Verlengia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Herz in the 68th minute of the match. A collision led to Liver Bird getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Jacques La Rosa hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Jonas Herz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Verlengia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zelg FC's Sepp Mainville proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Zelg FC from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, Jonas Herz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liver Bird's Jonathan Lamontagne was substituted for Clinton Werfel. In the 81st minute Jonas Herz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Verlengia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Timoteo Kuhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Liver Bird's zone, Albain Furst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig Verlengia came out of the goal and Albain Furst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Zelg FC booed when Liver Bird was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimitris Rapsopodis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 played minutes Liver Bird got a freekick which was hit by Nathaniel Howald. When the referee blew the final whistle, Zelg FC could leave the field as winners, despite Liver Bird having more of the ball for most of the match.
