The audience was convinced that Scott Herz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Walter Fransson was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Oskar Brandenberger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Fransson having to make a save. 70 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's goal looked a bit too open when Oskar Brandenberger came free, but Walter Fransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rory Restaino hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Fire Devils's protests and gave Pius Gruenenfelder a yellow card for diving instead. Pius Gruenenfelder hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scott Herz in the 80th minute of play forced Fire Devils's goalkeeper Walter Fransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Hemmersbacher SV players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
