The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Ulaş Hulk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Brigid Rutherford was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aaron Walker hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Brigid Rutherford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulaş Hulk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fu Ying Yao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barhart Costello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, St. James Gate F.C.'s Pearse McWilliam ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fu Ying Yao. Fu Ying Yao yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Brigid Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Witold Prosowski in the 25th minute of the match. When Hewney Kirby fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored St. James Gate F.C.'s protests and gave Hewney Kirby a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lord of the Wings booed when St. James Gate F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hewney Kirby didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute of the match, Pearse McWilliam tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fu Ying Yao saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 30th minute Ulaş Hulk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brigid Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Lord of the Wings getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Roman Zbikowski hit a great ball. Gealan Cooney lost his temper 38 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. St. James Gate F.C. made a substitution. Bannon Glen Crowe replaced Pearse McWilliam. The referee gave Lord of the Wings a penalty, 41 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Witold Prosowski, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of St. James Gate F.C.'s Brigid Rutherford. 1-3. In the 45th minute Witold Prosowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brigid Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes Lord of the Wings got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Marchena.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barhart Costello was the one to do the kick off. Fu Ying Yao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barhart Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After 55 played minutes St. James Gate F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Walker. Barnaby Bayes hit a great ball. Ulaş Hulk's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Brigid Rutherford skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, St. James Gate F.C.'s Brigid Rutherford got control of the ball when Ulaş Hulk tried to sneak it across the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Lord of the Wings's goal looked a bit too open when Barhart Costello came free, but Fu Ying Yao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dawid Alaba hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulaş Hulk got free with Brigid Rutherford in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Lord of the Wings's Ulaş Hulk slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brigid Rutherford. That made the score 1-5 after 81 minutes of play. St. James Gate F.C.'s Biddy Delaney was substituted for Barhart Costello. Brigid Rutherford made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Ulaş Hulk sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hewney Kirby in the 89th minute of play forced Lord of the Wings's goalkeeper Fu Ying Yao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aaron Walker hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Ulaş Hulk did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-6 to the left of a surprised Brigid Rutherford 92 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lord of the Wings eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
