After 47 minutes, Honorato Zambujal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Putra Rewulu and the Quebec city FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiburcio Ledesma couldn't finish the play. Patrick Hillman's late challenge caught a Putra Rewulu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Putra Rewulu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
