Bertrand Glass started the match with the kick off. Lưu Thuyet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertrand Glass in the 5th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trần Teo got free with Quentin Kendrick in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lưu Thuyet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bertrand Glass's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franciszek Kopacz in the 11th minute of play forced Sài Gòn's goalkeeper Lưu Thuyet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Nguyễn Duc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quentin Kendrick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bertrand Glass in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lưu Thuyet saved Sài Gòn from getting behind. Lưu Thuyet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bertrand Glass's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Sài Gòn's Lưu Thuyet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertrand Glass in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sài Gòn's goalkeeper Lưu Thuyet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pastor Vergaray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lưu Thuyet having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 39 minutes into the game, when Myles Berger put in a rough tackle. In the 39th minute, Myles Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Sài Gòn's Nguyễn Lan in action when he in the 41st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The supporters of Fly T.T booed when Sài Gòn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Phuc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Nguyễn Chi made the kick off in the second half. Lưu Thuyet made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Vadim Shiryaev sent off a good shot on target. In the 54th minute, Fly T.T's Vadim Shiryaev ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lưu Thuyet. Lưu Thuyet yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Jan Smitt took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lưu Thuyet. Lưu Thuyet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Pastor Vergaray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Lưu Thuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sài Gòn getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Nguyễn Lan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sài Gòn's Đặng Dung got a free kick in the 68th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Fly T.T's Curt Weyermann tried to score from far away in the 69th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Jan Smitt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lưu Thuyet. Jan Smitt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Franciszek Kopacz might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lưu Thuyet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franciszek Kopacz ran back to his position shaking his head. When Franciszek Kopacz came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Fly T.T fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franciszek Kopacz couldn't finish the play. Quentin Kendrick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Lan, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Lưu Thuyet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Franciszek Kopacz went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Fly T.T's Warner Paimboeuf got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jan Smitt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Lưu Thuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
