Wendell Petit kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wong Butcher in the 20th minute of play forced Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bryan Hui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seth Luke in the 29th minute of play. Bryan Hui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwin Gay in the 31st minute of the match. Oakham's Bryan Hui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurice Odonnell in the 35th minute of play. Gilberto Boone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Koh in the 36th minute. Wong Butcher hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Bryan Hui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurice Odonnell in the 41st minute of the match. With a little luck, Varennes's Gilberto Boone got control of the ball when Mark Koh tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Oakham getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Jerry Soon hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maurice Odonnell was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Wendell Petit hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Varennes's Gilberto Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wong Butcher in the 54th minute of play. The corner led Varennes's Théophile Berger to fire away a dangerous shot which Bryan Hui despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gilberto Boone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wong Butcher's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute.
