In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilberto Boone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 尤翀伟 in the 19th minute of the match. Maurice Odonnells short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Bela Negara to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With an all-out effort, Varennes's Bela Negara threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maurice Odonnell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Varennes's Gilberto Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Leão in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Leão in the 35th minute of play forced Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Varennes's zone, 尤翀伟 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Boone came out of the goal and 尤翀伟 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Rafael Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Boone was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 43rd minute of the match Menang Kalah Tawuran got a corner. Varennes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jens-Åke Pedersson ran over to the corner to take the kick. 45 minutes into the match, Rafael Leão notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Varennes's Gilberto Boone. Gilberto Boone was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Menang Kalah Tawuran were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

尤翀伟 came free with the goalkeeper in the 50th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gilberto Boone could save by the left post. Varennes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when 尤翀伟 scored to the left of an out of position Gilberto Boone, making the score, 0-2. If Bernardo Goudreau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Varennes made a substitution. Hong Mosher replaced Ward Houde. The audience was convinced that Rafael Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilberto Boone was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After 64 minutes Varennes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jens-Åke Pedersson who took care of the corner kick. In the 69th minute Maurice Odonnell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bela Negara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bela Negara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Odonnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Bela Negara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Odonnell in the 72nd minute of play. Menang Kalah Tawuran's Bela Negara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Titus Pineda in the 75th minute of play. Bela Negara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurice Odonnell's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Bela Negara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Odonnell in the 87th minute of play. When Varennes's Maurice Odonnell in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Menang Kalah Tawuran's goalie prevented a goal. Varennes's Gilberto Boone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Varennes from getting a goal against them. Gilberto Boone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Leão in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Varennes's Titus Pineda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bela Negara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Varennes lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
