With a little luck, Legia Stavanger's Slavcho Kanov got control of the ball when Kim Alnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Åsnes defense, Javier Turi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sturle Åsland. The Åsnes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sturle Åsland should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute, Alfred Klawki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute, Alfred Klawki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sturle Åsland was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The Åsnes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sturle Åsland should have stopped the shot. In the 34th minute Javier Turi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sturle Åsland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javier Turi struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Sturle Åsland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legia Stavanger. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute, Javier Turi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sturle Åsland. The goal made the score 0-5. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Alfred Klawki got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Legia Stavanger booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim Alnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Legia Stavanger's Alfred Klawki got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Javier Turi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sturle Åsland, 0-6. 68 minutes into the game, Gjermund Viste was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Legia Stavanger's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åsnes the free kick. After 68 played minutes Legia Stavanger got a freekick which was hit by Gjermund Viste. In the 73rd minute Kim Alnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Slavcho Kanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Åsnes's Sturle Åsland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gjermund Viste in the 77th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Humberto Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sturle Åsland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Humberto Passos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sturle Åsland. That made the score 0-8 in the 89 minute of play. After 95 played minutes Legia Stavanger got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Ciorogaru. Legia Stavanger's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
