Feliciano Elodio stood somewhat misplaced when Peyo Fonelleda came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 8 minute. 13 minutes into the match, 1989 Blxsk's Desiderio Ostargi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hugo Orlando Gatti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 17th minute Desiderio Ostargi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Godoy in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Orlando Gatti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The corner ended in Ubaldo Ur almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Consejo del Mate's Hugo Orlando Gatti did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in 1989 Blxsk's zone, Peyo Fonelleda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliciano Elodio came out of the goal and Peyo Fonelleda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peyo Fonelleda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Miguel Godoy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hugo Orlando Gatti was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. After 33 minutes, Miguel Godoy made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Consejo del Mate's Hugo Orlando Gatti tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36thth minute of the game Miguel Godoy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Consejo del Mate's Hugo Orlando Gatti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Godoy in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo Orlando Gatti saved Consejo del Mate from getting behind. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Godoy in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, Consejo del Mate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio Kemen to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute Miguel Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Godoy in the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to Consejo del Mate getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ervin Alla hit a great ball. Consejo del Mate's Hugo Orlando Gatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Godoy in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Godoy made a kick off. 1989 Blxsk's Miguel Godoy got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Consejo del Mate's Bolo Bolaño in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye 1989 Blxsk's goalie prevented a goal. After 63 minutes, Alvaro Tiniebra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 1989 Blxsk and the Consejo del Mate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, 1989 Blxsk's Alvaro Tiniebra got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Consejo del Mate's Štefan Hlavica tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Kemen in the 76th minute of play forced 1989 Blxsk's goalkeeper Feliciano Elodio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute, Hernan Quinton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 1989 Blxsk's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
