Spectators: 150 (Terracing: 113, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Siro Benvido started the match with the kick off. Newells Old Boys's Cristian Blanco got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Serafino Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siro Benvido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sotelo AFC's Robustiano Gelmiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Sotelo AFC from getting a goal against them. Siro Benvido blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafino Jurdan having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siro Benvido in the 14th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Serafino Jurdan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Sotelo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Silverio Tuste came free, but Robustiano Gelmiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, André-Pierre Gignac hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Serafino Jurdan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Siro Benvido went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kevin De Bruyne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafino Jurdan having to make a save. Siro Benvido's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serafino Jurdan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Newells Old Boys defense, Siro Benvido kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serafino Jurdan. The Newells Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serafino Jurdan should have stopped the shot. 38 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Siro Benvido came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Senna in the 40th minute of the match. Serafino Jurdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurinho Senna in the 41st minute of play. Óscar Ruggieri hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Siro Benvido came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silverio Tuste made a kick off. Serafino Jurdan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Senna in the 53rd minute of the match. Serafino Jurdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siro Benvido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maximo Domingues hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 59 played minutes Sotelo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Óscar Ruggieri. In the 62nd minute Maurinho Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafino Jurdan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sotelo AFC's Cui Liang Yue was substituted for Siro Benvido. In the 64th match minute, Sotelo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximo Domingues to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Tuste in the 66th minute of play forced Sotelo AFC's goalkeeper Robustiano Gelmiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Newells Old Boys were awarded a corner. Elias Medeiros went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 69th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Geofredo to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Silverio Tuste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Newells Old Boys were furious when Domingo Geofredo was red carded, 73 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to Newells Old Boys getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Domingo Geofredo hit a great ball. Serafino Jurdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Tevreden in the 75th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Cui Liang Yue came free, but Serafino Jurdan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cui Liang Yue in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serafino Jurdan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sotelo AFC were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Newells Old Boys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kevin Tevreden took the corner. After taking down the ball on Sotelo AFC's corner Kevin De Bruyne fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Serafino Jurdan quite easily take care of the ball. After 89 minutes Newells Old Boys's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Tevreden who took care of the corner kick. Sotelo AFC's Esteve Mosen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Serafino Jurdan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 91 minutes Newells Old Boys's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Tevreden who took care of the corner kick. After 93 minutes of play, Sotelo AFC's Cui Liang Yue made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Serafino Jurdan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sotelo AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
