Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy Medeiros to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Benedito Fiúza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Manuel Loren. That made the score 2-2 in the 56 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Percy Medeiros got free with Manuel Loren in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
