Santiago Gaizko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from M. Agus Young, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Santiago Gaizko came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young. But to his dismay, M. Agus Young quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Atlético Zelaya's Santiago Gaizko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by M. Agus Young in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the game Alejandro Gandolfini made a throw-in which Jacobo Abechuco played forward. When Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atlético Zelaya's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacobo Abechuco got free with Norberto Tino in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pascal Som hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Santa Lucia de Merlo defense, Jacobo Abechuco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norberto Tino. The Santa Lucia de Merlo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norberto Tino should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

A collision led to Santa Lucia de Merlo getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Doctor Paredes hit a great ball. If M. Agus Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by M. Agus Young in the 62nd minute of play forced Atlético Zelaya's goalkeeper Santiago Gaizko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Astor Giampietro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Astor Giampietro kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Astor Giampietro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Polo Quinteros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santiago Gaizko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute Astor Giampietro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Gaizko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Polo Quinteros's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Santiago Gaizko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Polo Quinteros in the 84th minute of the match. Norberto Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Giampietro in the 89th minute of play. In the 94th minute, Pascal Som hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
