But to his dismay, Cristian Naike quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ariel Gustau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tiburcio Quinteros went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 15 minutes into the match, Legio X Eqvestris's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Rivas came free, but Ariel Gustau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cristian Naike notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Legio X Eqvestris's Ariel Gustau. Ariel Gustau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tadeusz Rudy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Elpidio Vitin made a huge save. Benicio Rivas scored 0-5 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ariel Gustau, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Naike in the 32nd minute of play forced Legio X Eqvestris's goalkeeper Ariel Gustau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ariel Gustau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Quinteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Benicio Rivas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Ariel Gustau was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elpidio Vitin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Santio, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Gustau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Legio X Eqvestris was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Garoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Naike in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Gustau saved Legio X Eqvestris from getting behind. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roald Ahland in the 60th minute of play. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roald Ahland in the 61st minute of the match. Vélez Juniors's Melchor Napier was substituted for Alberto Joey. Vélez Juniors's Elvio Checa was substituted for Tiburcio Quinteros. Vélez Juniors's Godofredo Ado was substituted for Donato Efraim. 65 minutes in the game Raul Garoa did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Marcelino Kimetz. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Cristian Naike managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vélez Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Naike was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Gustau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 70th minute of the match Raul Garoa completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Raul Garoa a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Raul Garoa hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Naike got free with Ariel Gustau in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Legio X Eqvestris's goalkeeper Ariel Gustau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santos Fonda. Cristian Naike could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ariel Gustau made a huge save. With his leg Ariel Gustau managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Cristian Naike took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Ariel Gustau to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Naike in the 95th minute of play forced Legio X Eqvestris's goalkeeper Ariel Gustau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Vélez Juniors players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
