An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Gorka in the 21st minute of play forced Huarriors AFC's goalkeeper David Matthew to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordon Banks came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Huarriors AFC's Tao Kuan Hai. But to his dismay, Tao Kuan Hai quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvano Arano got free with Gordon Banks in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gordon Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tao Kuan Hai in the 31st minute of play. Gordon Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tao Kuan Hai in the 33rd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Gordon Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvano Arano in the 52nd minute of the match. David Matthew took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from C.J. De la Sotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonso Pacifico kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Tao Kuan Hai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gordon Banks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roque Fernanco, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. HFA FC's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Arano in the 71st minute of play. If Raimundo Rojelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huarriors AFC's Gaspar Precioso was substituted for Tao Kuan Hai. A collision led to Huarriors AFC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gaspar Precioso hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Rojelio in the 78th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermengildo Gorka's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but David Matthew firmly grabbed it by the left post.
