HFA FC's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Playo in the 11th minute of play. When Sebastian Turi came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the HFA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Turi couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Gaitan in the 20th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mickael Wuyts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Turi, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Erubiel Gaitan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gordon Banks. HFA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erubiel Gaitan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Bahía é Carnaval's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Turi came free, but Mickael Wuyts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Bahía é Carnaval's Ciro Playo in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye HFA FC's goalie prevented a goal. Gordon Banks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Playo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of HFA FC booed when Bahía é Carnaval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Gaitan didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermengildo Gorka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bahía é Carnaval's Mickael Wuyts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Gorka in the 58th minute of play. If Hermengildo Gorka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermengildo Gorka in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mickael Wuyts prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Bahía é Carnaval getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jacinto Rosio hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erubiel Gaitan. Gordon Banks made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Ciro Playo sent off a good shot on target. If Sebastian Turi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to HFA FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Gilberto Fonda hit a great ball. HFA FC's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erubiel Gaitan in the 83rd minute of play. Mickael Wuyts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermengildo Gorka's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind HFA FC's goalkeeper Gordon Banks, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hermengildo Gorka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickael Wuyts having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Hermengildo Gorka ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mickael Wuyts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Bahía é Carnaval were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
