Nicolas Sanchos short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Baldomero Suarez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 12 minutes Boquenses's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jake Hursey who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jake Hursey got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tobias Osoro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Baldomero Suarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Lanús's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Tirso came free, but Baldomero Suarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Boquenses's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Oliviero came free, but Tobias Osoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22ndth minute of the game Rodrigo Ferdinand who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lanús's Baldomero Suarez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st match minute, Lanús was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Oliviero to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Lanús getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Matt Le Tissier hit a great ball. Baldomero Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 38th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Boquenses:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lanús:s goal. Nicolas Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Baldomero Suarez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Nicolas Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baldomero Suarez. Lanús's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolas Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Baldomero Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 55th minute of play. After 57 minutes, Jake Hursey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lanús and the Boquenses players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jake Hursey hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The supporters of Boquenses booed when Lanús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteve Herrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute Gregorio Tirso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomero Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Esteve Herrera ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tobias Osoro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Osvaldo Ostargi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteve Herrera kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Nicolas Sancho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baldomero Suarez. Lanús's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Boquenses booed when Lanús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnaldo Mendebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 97th minute of play forced Lanús's goalkeeper Baldomero Suarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boquenses were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
