In the 34th minute Kandemir Ülkü shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Cordario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emiliano Martínez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Aragones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Knight Of Dawn's Jeremias Cordario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kandemir Ülkü in the 41st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Fecha Libre's Jeremias Cordario threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martins Palermo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Knight Of Dawn's Lucio Nisio was substituted for Franco Baresi. Knight Of Dawn's Filiberto Tome was substituted for Danilo Matro. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martins Palermo was the one to do the kick off. Fecha Libre's Ulises Hustaz got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Qiu Yuan Jun reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emiliano Martínez. The goal made the score 0-1.
