After taking down the ball on Racing Club's corner Mario Silban fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tadeo Udalaitz quite easily take care of the ball. After 13 minutes, Francisco Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Machine Gun Kelly and the Racing Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Racing Club booed when Machine Gun Kelly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Machine Gun Kelly's Tadeo Udalaitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Opilano in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match, Conrado Erramun got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cornelio Cordearo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tadeo Udalaitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Nevada, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Tadeo Udalaitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Opilano in the 19th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Erramun got free with Cornelio Cordearo in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Machine Gun Kelly's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Conrado Erramun in the 23rd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Racing Club's goalie and right to Geoffrey Wolden. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Racing Club's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 35 minutes into the match, Machine Gun Kelly's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Nevada came free, but Tadeo Udalaitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Samuel Nevada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Udalaitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Erramun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cornelio Cordearo having to make a save. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Epifanio Txomin to strike the kick off in the second half. Cornelio Cordearo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Erramun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite being the better team, Racing Club failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
