The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeo Hernandez got free with Marcos Burni in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Waitakere F.C. made a substitution. Nacho Scocco replaced Delmiro Oto. 龙笑霖 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marius Gherghe in the 57th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marius Gherghe got free with 龙笑霖 in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marius Gherghe who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of 龙笑霖 when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
