Xeneizes's Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Batistuta in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Waitakere F.C. booed when Xeneizes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Byström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Batistuta in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Waitakere F.C.'s Delmiro Oto was substituted for Eduardo Vasco. Waitakere F.C.'s Gar Gamel was substituted for Nacho Scocco. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fulgencio Peru to make the kick off. Fulgencio Peru received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcos Burni came out and tried to block the shot, but Fulgencio Peru slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 58th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Piara Santo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo. Xeneizes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Piara Santo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Piara Santo in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeo-Raúl Carrizo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aristides Nastasio got free with Marcos Burni in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th match minute, Xeneizes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristides Nastasio to maneuver through the defense. Xeneizes's Lucas Iigo was substituted for Aristides Nastasio. After 81 played minutes Xeneizes got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Nastasio. In the 88th minute Fulgencio Peru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Burni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Burni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Iigo in the 91st minute of the match. Marcos Burni didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucas Iigo went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score.
