Jesus Ofelio was slow to take the kick. During this time Stellenbosch's players had a chance to rest. Errecaborda AFC's Edmond Verdun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Bernat in the 32nd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Stellenbosch's goal looked a bit too open when Isidro Gines came free, but Pedro Pelayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Errecaborda AFC booed when Stellenbosch was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mao Zhen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Errecaborda AFC's protests and gave Clemente Silviano a yellow card for diving instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osvaldo Bernat was the one to do the kick off. Edmond Verdun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edmond Verdun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Bernat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stellenbosch's Luca Savini was substituted for Severo Mingo. After 64 minutes Errecaborda AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Flóki Cabezudo might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmond Verdun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The Stellenbosch fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After 88 played minutes Errecaborda AFC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Urbano. Edmond Verdun came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Stellenbosch's Flóki Cabezudo. But to his dismay, Flóki Cabezudo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Stellenbosch had won after a very even match.
