With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Snow prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st minute, Peneios Protopsaltis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. El Renacer del Quijano FC's attentive Koit Einasto managed to snatch the ball when Arnaldo Peter made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. Leandro Laurentzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flóki Cabezudo took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomas Snow. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Peneios Protopsaltis put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of El Renacer del Quijano FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stellenbosch:s goal. The referee gave Stellenbosch a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mao Zhen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of El Renacer del Quijano FC's Tomas Snow. 0-4. After the first half Stellenbosch were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teobaldo Ubarna made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Stellenbosch's goal looked a bit too open when Jakob Friberger came free, but Pedro Pelayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
