In the 10th minute Alonzo Lazcano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute Diego Maradona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfredo Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godfredo Abarca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. BEIJO CARNAVAL were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Sporting de Gijón's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cristian Paulin took the corner. The supporters of BEIJO CARNAVAL booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alphonso Davies didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Alonzo Lazcano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Óscar Cordoba. Alonzo Lazcano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Óscar Cordoba was a little too slow when Adam Jönsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Alonzo Lazcano sped through Sporting de Gijón's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Óscar Cordoba. In the 45thth minute of the game Matias Bilintx who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BEIJO CARNAVAL's Godfredo Abarca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alonzo Lazcano kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Wayne Rooney replaced Alejandro Rufo. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alonzo Lazcano was the one to do the kick off. The referee ignored BEIJO CARNAVAL's protests and gave Isaac Tercero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Isaac Tercero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sporting de Gijón's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
