The audience thought a goal was coming when Tudur Fitriansyah got free with Zé Paulo Mendes in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 91 played minutes New Pi got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Frisco. With his leg Luiz Fernando Branco managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when New Pi's Marcelo Goito fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SuperChango fans cheered their team off the field, for while New Pi had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
