A collision led to Characate FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Ernesto Txanton hit a great ball. Leopoldo Afonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benjamin Price made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabio-Roman Pairetto in the 25th minute. Fabio-Roman Pairetto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benjamin Price came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabio-Roman Pairetto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. Benjamin Price made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio-Roman Pairetto in the 35th minute of play. Jimeno Natal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Afonso in the 39th minute of the match. In the 40th minute of the match Characate FC got a corner. diego armando fc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leopoldo Afonso ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Leopoldo Afonso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but diego armando fc's Jimeno Natal did a great save. After 40 played minutes Characate FC got a freekick which was hit by Leon Napierkowski. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Leopoldo Afonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Characate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Afonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimeno Natal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leopoldo Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimeno Natal having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
