Leopoldo Afonsos short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Ilie Oprea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Gelp 22's Ilie Oprea got control of the ball when Gerardo Santikurtz tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Afonso got free with Ilie Oprea in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leopoldo Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Oprea having to interfere. Leopoldo Afonsos short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Ilie Oprea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Gelp 22's Fabricio Remicio got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 21st minute, Characate FC's Ernesto Txanton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Leopoldo Afonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilie Oprea having to interfere. Leopoldo Afonso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Ilie Oprea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nestor Gaxan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Ilie Oprea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ilie Oprea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Santikurtz in the 32nd minute of play. Ilie Oprea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Afonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leopoldo Afonso in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilie Oprea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Gelp 22 getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Orlando Abajas hit a great ball. When Characate FC's Leopoldo Afonso in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gelp 22's goalie prevented a goal. In the 45thth minute of the game Leopoldo Afonso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gelp 22's Ilie Oprea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leopoldo Afonso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gelp 22's Ilie Oprea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Afonso in the 55th minute of play. Ilie Oprea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rashid Paddington, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Ilie Oprea came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Characate FC's Leopoldo Afonso. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Afonso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Ilie Oprea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Afonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilie Oprea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Afonso went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Ilie Oprea came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Characate FC's Leopoldo Afonso. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Afonso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 81 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Afonso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilie Oprea. Gelp 22's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leopoldo Afonso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Ilie Oprea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Afonso's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the game, Characate FC's Leopoldo Afonso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilie Oprea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. After having played for 91 minutes, Leopoldo Afonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Characate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Afonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerardo Santikurtz's late challenge caught a Gelp 22's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerardo Santikurtz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Characate FC's Gerardo Santikurtz got a free kick in the 94th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Characate FC had played much better football throughout.
