In the 22nd minute Witold Ciempa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Neron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Neron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Porfiro in the 23rd minute of play. Jeremias Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristobal Hulberto in the 25th minute of the match. Lisandro López could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Jeremias Cruz made a huge save. Cremonese were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Deportivo Balvanera's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Recai Taykurt took the corner. The corner ended in Recai Taykurt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Deportivo Balvanera's Abel Neron did a great save. Abel Neron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lu Guang Lang, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Abel Neron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Witold Ciempa's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cremonese reached it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Lisandro López made the kick off in the second half. If Witold Ciempa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Neron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Porfiro in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Deportivo Balvanera's Gilberto Inautzi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gilberto Inautzi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Deportivo Balvanera protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gilberto Inautzi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 61 played minutes Cremonese got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Lundqvist. Deportivo Balvanera's Venancio Chaime was substituted for Isaac Dayam. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when Cremonese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Lundqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cremonese's Jeremias Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Cordarin in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cremonese's Leonel Valentim got a free kick in the 77th minute. A nice corner shot did that Recai Taykurt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Abel Neron quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Israel Manex scored 1-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abel Neron, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Abel Neron made an important save on a dangerous shot by Witold Ciempa in the 87th minute. When Candido Jakes fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Balvanera's protests and gave Candido Jakes a yellow card for diving instead. Cremonese's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
