In the 10th match minute, Kiev FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeronimo Frutos to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Kiev FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Jokin came free, but Peng Xu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Vipos FC's goalkeeper Gervasio Ixaka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Iturri. 20 minutes into the match, Kiev FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Jokin came free, but Peng Xu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Vipos FC's goalkeeper Gervasio Ixaka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Iturri. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafa Santos Borré in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peng Xu saved Kiev FC from getting behind. Miguel Castanheira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Vipos FC booed when Kiev FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Guter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peng Xu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Castanheira in the 28th minute of play. Kiev FC's Peng Xu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Castanheira in the 32nd minute of play. Anselmo Iturri might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gervasio Ixaka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Iturri ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35thth minute of the game Fidel Jokin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kiev FC's Peng Xu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A nice corner shot did that Rafa Santos Borré got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Peng Xu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gervasio Ixaka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Iturri in the 38th minute of the match. Peng Xu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peng Xu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafa Santos Borré in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Vipos FC's Mayer Candelo was substituted for Gaspar Acuña. After a defensive mix-up in Vipos FC's zone, Aristides Peli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervasio Ixaka came out of the goal and Aristides Peli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gervasio Ixaka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Peli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68thth minute of the game Anselmo Iturri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vipos FC's Gervasio Ixaka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
