After 7 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Dropinski. In the 8th minute of the match Jan-Erik Lönn sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chiquito Martinez skillfully saved the ball. In the 21st minute Sören Bengtsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Jacob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Erik Lönn came free, but Chiquito Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute Jorg Pieters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Jacob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chiquito Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Erik Lönn, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Independiente's Chiquito Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Independiente from getting a goal against them. 34 minutes into the match, Formentera's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Emander came free, but Froilan Jacob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Froilan Jacob showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorg Pieters in the 37th minute of the match. Chiquito Martinez was a little too slow when Jan-Erik Lönn got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-1. Osvaldo Sugar charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Osvaldo Sugar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Formentera's Osvaldo Sugar got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Elvio Ioritz kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Froilan Jacob showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorg Pieters, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Elvio Ioritz hit a great ball. Independiente's Chiquito Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Hondo in the 66th minute of play. Chiquito Martinez came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Formentera's Justino Hondo. But to his dismay, Justino Hondo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 79th minute Jorg Pieters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Jacob saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Froilan Jacob made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjy Benton in the 85th minute. When Sören Bengtsson, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 88 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Froilan Jacob was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Elvio Ioritz kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Jan-Erik Lönn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Chiquito Martinez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Froilan Jacob was a little too slow when Benjy Benton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 2-2. Independiente were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
