The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Klement Bara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sparta LKS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gabriel Aparecido was slow to take the kick. During this time Rokita Brzeg Dolny's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sixten Bokelund in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klement Bara saved Rokita Brzeg Dolny from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimierz Felenak in the 33rd minute of play forced Sparta LKS's goalkeeper Grzegorz Olszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rokita Brzeg Dolny were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Sparta LKS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gabriel Aparecido took the corner. The Sparta LKS fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Sparta LKS's Sixten Bokelund looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sparta LKS's Grzegorz Olszewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludomil Cebula in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Sparta LKS were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Grzegorz Olszewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Escobar in the 52nd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Honorato Escobar put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Grzegorz Olszewski. In the 56th match minute, Rokita Brzeg Dolny was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kazimierz Felenak to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valērijs Bensons in the 59th minute of play forced Sparta LKS's goalkeeper Grzegorz Olszewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grzegorz Olszewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludomil Cebula in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sparta LKS's zone, Gabriel Aparecido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grzegorz Olszewski came out of the goal and Gabriel Aparecido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sparta LKS's Gwidon Harasimowicz was substituted for Jean-Yves Bayle. In the 73rd minute Ludomil Cebula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grzegorz Olszewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grzegorz Olszewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Galvan, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Klement Bara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marko Vooro in the 77th minute of play.
