The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. It was a penalty for ATLAS Mysłowice! When Wawrzyniec Waselewicz came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Borowa Rzeszów fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wawrzyniec Waselewicz couldn't finish the play. Radomir Waldoch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Zbigniew Bielejewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Borowa Rzeszów's zone, Bogumil Maciejewski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zbigniew Bielejewski came out of the goal and Bogumil Maciejewski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ATLAS Mysłowice's Jerônimo Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Thidén in the 28th minute of play. Radomir Karpinski hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Radomir Waldoch managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATLAS Mysłowice's supporters rose to their feet, but Radomir Waldoch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zbigniew Bielejewski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 34 minutes into the match, Borowa Rzeszów's goal looked a bit too open when Radomir Waldoch came free, but Zbigniew Bielejewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
