A collision led to Akademia Maliqi getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Emmanuel Urruti hit a great ball. Timoteo Lucero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kim Bolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Barrie Kerridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandru Nastac in the 6th minute of the match. In the 6thth minute of the game Alexandru Nastac who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sliema Dragons FC's Barrie Kerridge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Oran Tahiri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Øyvind Skoglund came free, but Barrie Kerridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Alexandru Nastac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barrie Kerridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulises Ixidor charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulises Ixidor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ulises Ixidor hit a great ball. Sliema Dragons FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baran Erozan in the 16th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Akademia Maliqi's goalie and right to Leszek Cupial. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Akademia Maliqi's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Bolas in the 18th minute of play forced Akademia Maliqi's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oran Tahiri in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Barrie Kerridge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Edinho de Queirós. 26 minutes into the match, Akademia Maliqi's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Bolas came free, but Timoteo Lucero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 31 in the game by Leszek Cupial from a close distance when the talented Timoteo Lucero managed to make a qualified save. Akademia Maliqi's players were relieved. In the 33rd minute Baran Erozan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Lucero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barrie Kerridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Nastac in the 36th minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, Kim Bolas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kim Bolas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Øyvind Skoglund in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Barrie Kerridge saved Sliema Dragons FC from getting behind. The corner led to Akademia Maliqi's Oran Tahiri getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Kim Bolas made the kick off in the second half. If Kim Bolas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Øyvind Skoglund kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 58 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Baran Erozan. Timoteo Lucero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leszek Cupial, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when Akademia Maliqi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Beck didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Kim Bolas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Bolas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timoteo Lucero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barrie Kerridge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandru Nastac's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Edinho de Queirós sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Timoteo Lucero skillfully saved the ball. After 69 played minutes, Sliema Dragons FC's Edinho de Queirós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sliema Dragons FC reached it. Akademia Maliqi made a substitution. Ivón Echavarri replaced Oran Tahiri. Akademia Maliqi's Kudret Hajdari was substituted for Olsi Berberi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baran Erozan in the 86th minute of play forced Akademia Maliqi's goalkeeper Timoteo Lucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timoteo Lucero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dejan Cassar, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Sliema Dragons FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baran Erozan in the 90th minute. Sliema Dragons FC's Baran Erozan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Timoteo Lucero in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sliema Dragons FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Akademia Maliqi for a fine match.
