The audience thought a goal was coming when Terry Silver got free with Qurban Äsädli in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 13 minutes SazobaSpor's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ahmet Danış Keçecioğlu who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Terry Silver heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Qurban Äsädli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michal Betonowy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jerome Bollaert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raul Zoff was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. With a little luck, SazobaSpor's Qurban Äsädli got control of the ball when Dunixi Laurenciano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michal Betonowy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Qurban Äsädli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. With his leg Qurban Äsädli managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Maccabi Netanya's Dunixi Laurenciano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Senio Opazo in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raul Zoff prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerome Bollaert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raul Zoff having to make a save. In the 40th minute, Jerome Bollaert made a precise shot to the right of Raul Zoff. Maccabi Netanya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Senio Opazo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SazobaSpor's supporters rose to their feet, but Senio Opazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Zoff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 94th minute, Chuttur Lønge left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maccabi Netanya fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The SazobaSpor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SazobaSpor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
