Washington de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márk Kovács, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Templars FC were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after FC Shakhtar Donetsk's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Staffan Apelqvist took the corner. Templars FC's Staffan Apelqvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Washington de Lara in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Washington de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márk Kovács in the 20th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Márk Kovács cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Washington de Lara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Adelino Marques got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Washington de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márk Kovács in the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of Templars FC booed when FC Shakhtar Donetsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bai Ang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bai Ang kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Márk Kovács made a kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Apolo Edur got a free kick in the 50th minute. Márk Kovács recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Márk Kovács managed to get in a good position for a shot. Templars FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Márk Kovács was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Damien Blake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Courtois having to interfere. Templars FC made a substitution. Jonathan Sammut replaced Márk Kovács. Templars FC's Joaquin Phoenix was substituted for Ziya Onur Muzaffer. In the 71st minute Apolo Edur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Edur in the 71st minute of play forced Templars FC's goalkeeper André Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Sammut blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Washington de Lara having to make a save. FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Washington de Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Shakhtar Donetsk from getting a goal against them. After 74 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Bonifacio Turri. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Adelino Marques hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Templars FC's Jonathan Sammut slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Washington de Lara. That made the score 0-2 after 81 minutes of play. After some careless play in the FC Shakhtar Donetsk defense, Jonathan Sammut kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Washington de Lara. The FC Shakhtar Donetsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Washington de Lara should have stopped the shot. Washington de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Sammut, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ethan Stiles, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. A nice corner shot did that Damien Blake got away a dangerous shot. Despite this André Courtois quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
