Lorenz Ureta made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Paulo Laurentzi sent off a good shot on target. After 34 played minutes Criciúma Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gaztea Regalado. Evelio Antoniano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivon Gasca, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Mehmet Emin Kamer hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bieito Villaurreta to make the kick off. Lorenz Ureta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Evelio Antoniano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baba Ba in the 58th minute of play. With a left leg Lorenz Ureta saved Ajax Colombiano from getting behind. After 93 minutes, Kaiet Marote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ajax Colombiano and the Criciúma Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Kaiet Marote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
