The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Munio Antolin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingmar Kracke in the 10th minute of play. Benedict Baird could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Munio Antolin made a huge save. Mihnea Vasilian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Munio Antolin made a huge save. MILLONARIOS FC's Maties Toranzo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Genaro Harroyo, made in the 24th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Victorino Bonifaco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Munio Antolin was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Eskild Sneftrup quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 43 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ieltxu Corales came free, but Stanislav Dvorskiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Resistencia Tayrona FC booed when MILLONARIOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Hernández didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victorino Bonifaco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute Ieltxu Corales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislav Dvorskiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MILLONARIOS FC's Munio Antolin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingmar Kracke in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Eskild Sneftrup made a precise shot to the right of Stanislav Dvorskiy. Resistencia Tayrona FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Taurino Hernaiz was substituted for Victorino Bonifaco. Munio Antolin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taurino Hernaiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Eskild Sneftrup kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stanislav Dvorskiy. That made the score 2-3 in the 73 minute of play. When Nestor Velasco fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Resistencia Tayrona FC's protests and gave Nestor Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Resistencia Tayrona FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Nestor Velasco hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Kepa Barajo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute, Ospetsu Villagarcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Munio Antolin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. 89 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ospetsu Villagarcia came free, but Munio Antolin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Taurino Hernaiz in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Munio Antolin prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
