A collision led to ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Tomas Gustafson hit a great ball. Juan Benavides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusko Zubicoeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s zone, Cornelio Omero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Benavides came out of the goal and Cornelio Omero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. EBK's Marcelo Quexada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Escobar in the 15th minute of play. Marcelo Quexada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Escobar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Humberto Escobar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Quexada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Colon in the 23rd minute of play forced ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Juan Benavides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Humberto Escobar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Quexada was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Humberto Escobar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcelo Quexada in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 34thth minute of the game Humberto Escobar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EBK's Marcelo Quexada was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Escobar in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Quexada saved EBK from getting behind. Marcelo Quexada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Escobar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 minutes, Humberto Escobar made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. EBK's Marcelo Quexada tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martín Ulloa to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, EBK's goal looked a bit too open when Milosz Gabis came free, but Marcelo Quexada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, EBK's Ştefan Pantea got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Juan Benavides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Omero in the 59th minute of the match. Humberto Escobar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Marcelo Quexada skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Omero in the 62nd minute of play forced ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Juan Benavides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Benavides came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by EBK's Cornelio Omero. But to his dismay, Cornelio Omero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Giancarlo Mora was substituted for Dari Mana. In the 79th minute Cornelio Omero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Benavides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Humberto Escobar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Quexada was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Juan Benavides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Omero in the 83rd minute of the match. Humberto Escobar let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 85th minute shot 1-3 at rihgt post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martín Ulloa in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Quexada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juan Benavides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Colon in the 91st minute of play. Humberto Escobar in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcelo Quexada, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 93rd minute, Lisandro Martínez de Aldunate hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Humberto Escobar struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Marcelo Quexada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ►Las Mercedes F.C◄.
