The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Cañamero C.F.'s Matthew Llorca got control of the ball when Dionisio Hidalgo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Radja Head notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras. Zarando Lastras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Quentin Gonzalez succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 13th playminute. 16 minutes into the match, Atlético Maravilla's goal looked a bit too open when Manolito Appe came free, but Zarando Lastras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Urtungo Santander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cañamero C.F.'s Matthew Llorca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quentin Gonzalez in the 19th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Urtungo Santander in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zarando Lastras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Cañamero C.F.'s Nicko Frisman got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Cañamero C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Gonzalez came free, but Matthew Llorca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolito Appe in the 28th minute of play. In the 31stth minute of the game Manolito Appe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Atlético Maravilla's goal looked a bit too open when Urtungo Santander came free, but Zarando Lastras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Arraz's late challenge caught a Cañamero C.F.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Honorato Arraz helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The corner led to Cañamero C.F.'s Radja Head getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Zarando Lastras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manolito Appe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Zarando Lastras successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Urtungo Santanders short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Zarando Lastras to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Matthew Llorca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quentin Gonzalez in the 87th minute of play. Urtungo Santander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Cañamero C.F. booed when Atlético Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Hidalgo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
