Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Erik Thorstvedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Barrikako Herensugeak F.C from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Salud y República getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Pacho Mondejar hit a great ball. Salud y República's Juan Carlos Suciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leizarraga Leal in the 11th minute of play. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Salud y República's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sergi Velazquez took the corner. The corner led Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Leizarraga Leal to fire away a dangerous shot which Juan Carlos Suciu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Leizarraga Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leizarraga Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Salud y República's Juan Carlos Suciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leizarraga Leal in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdika Philip got free with Erik Thorstvedt in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Juan Dominguez. In the 35th minute Leizarraga Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Suciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Salud y República's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sergi Velazquez was slow to take the kick. During this time Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Salud y República's goalie and right to Iratxo Crespo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Salud y República's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Abdika Borbon kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Pacho Mondejar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erik Thorstvedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Astudillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Salud y República's Abdika Philip sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Thorstvedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Salud y República's Juan Carlos Suciu got control of the ball when Leizarraga Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
