In the 44th minute Antimo Coello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Si saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Atlético de Sagunto's Zenon Suarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Cacheres in the 53rd minute of play. Los once leones Ourense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético de Sagunto the free kick. After a rather tough play, Los once leones Ourense's Dabi Vila got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Atlético de Sagunto had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
