Zenon Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rainerio Obis in the 4th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Göktuğ Sulasi could shoot a difficult shot in the 6th minute, which Zenon Suarez however easily saved by the left post. With an all-out effort, Boca Juniors's Zenon Suarez threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alexis McAllister, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zenon Suarez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolando Amorebieta in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute of the match, Rainerio Obis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zenon Suarez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Rolando Amorebieta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zenon Suarez was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Asdrubal Prieto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético de Sagunto's supporters rose to their feet, but Asdrubal Prieto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Cuadrado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Asdrubal Prieto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rolando Amorebieta got free with Zenon Suarez in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Atlético de Sagunto getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Antimo Coello hit a great ball. Jacinto Cuadrado came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético de Sagunto's Antimo Coello. But to his dismay, Antimo Coello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The Boca Juniors players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atlético de Sagunto were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karlo Fuster made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Asdrubal Prieto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Cuadrado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético de Sagunto's Zenon Suarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Göktuğ Sulasi in the 55th minute of play. 58 minutes in the game Gaztea Casero did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Marc Cucurull. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göktuğ Sulasi in the 68th minute of play forced Atlético de Sagunto's goalkeeper Zenon Suarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Asdrubal Prieto came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Atlético de Sagunto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Asdrubal Prieto couldn't finish the play. Karlo Fuster could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Jacinto Cuadrado made a huge save. In the 83rd minute Rolando Amorebieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Suarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karlo Fusters short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Jacinto Cuadrado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lazaro Marin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Boca Juniors! 95 minutes into the game, Asdrubal Prieto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jacinto Cuadrado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atlético de Sagunto walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
