Álvaro Perpiñán made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lico Tarin in the 7th minute. If Lico Tarin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán got control of the ball when Lico Tarin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lico Tarin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, Lico Tarin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Álvaro Perpiñán, 2-0. Cedro Pantoja made in the 18th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Vintilă Ghițulescu however managed to control. After a rather tough play, ATLETAS FC's Carter Musacchio got a free kick in the 19th minute. Bedir Erdönmez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ke Xiong Chen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Lico Tarin took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Álvaro Perpiñán to make any attempt to save it. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Burgas's goalkeeper Álvaro Perpiñán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Álvaro Perpiñán was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Lico Tarin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lico Tarin really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. 35 minutes into the match, ATLETAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Ghițulescu came free, but Bedir Erdönmez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Sporting Burgas's corner Davor Šuker fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bedir Erdönmez quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Lico Tarin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATLETAS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lico Tarin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. ATLETAS FC's Bedir Erdönmez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davor Šuker in the 43rd minute of play. Álvaro Perpiñán made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lico Tarin in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Sporting Burgas's goalkeeper Álvaro Perpiñán had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lico Tarin. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Davor Šuker made a kick off. Álvaro Perpiñán didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lico Tarin went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 61 minutes into the game, ATLETAS FC's Lico Tarin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Álvaro Perpiñán made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. In the 64th minute, Martin Peyo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Lico Tarin notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Sporting Burgas's Álvaro Perpiñán. Álvaro Perpiñán was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sporting Burgas made a substitution. Antonio Fioriti replaced Vintilă Ghițulescu. ATLETAS FC's Adrián Planes was substituted for 倪烨默. Eutropio Turienzo might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro Perpiñán. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eutropio Turienzo ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eutropio Turienzo in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Álvaro Perpiñán saved Sporting Burgas from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Bedir Erdönmez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ke Xiong Chen in the 83rd minute of play forced ATLETAS FC's goalkeeper Bedir Erdönmez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
