Mac Aron charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mac Aron the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Álvaro Perpiñán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Feria, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Álvaro Perpiñán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Ganix in the 34th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Cipriano Ganix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Álvaro Perpiñán was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 39th minute Facundo Feria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Álvaro Perpiñán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half PERSPOLIS were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Sporting Burgas booed when PERSPOLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruslan Izmanã didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cordarell Guasch kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match Davor Šuker shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gianluigi Donnarumma showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Ke Xiong Chen notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of PERSPOLIS's Gianluigi Donnarumma. Gianluigi Donnarumma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Davor Šuker kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match.
