With his leg Jef Meyer managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Seagulls's Roderick van Boxel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aurelio Rexino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mirko Mos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Dariusz Rekawiczka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Nildo Matos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jef Meyer, 3-0. Felix Wessel charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Wessel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felix Wessel hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Jef Meyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Mook in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nildo Matos during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jef Meyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Mirko Mos made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Seagulls getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Severin Kotrulev hit a great ball. When Marco Mook came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Seagulls fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Mook couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute Nildo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jef Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Mook came free, but Jef Meyer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeo Formerio hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alvin Esbjörnsson came free, but Jef Meyer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alvin Esbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arne Engelaar was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Seagulls booed when Springplank FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arne Engelaar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dariusz Rekawiczka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roderick van Boxel in the 91st minute of play forced Springplank FC's goalkeeper Jef Meyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Best Štriker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Seagulls fully deserved thier win.
